That ford looks really nice in black. Never noticed that before. I'd be hard pressed to choose one or the other tbh

A guy at my college just bought one in black with what looked like wheels similar to these , and it looks great.

So glad you clarified which was yours. :)

My apologies. Mine lady is the lovely speed3 on the left.

I'm trying to decide what hot hatch to get right now.
A lightly used Speed3?
A new Focus ST?
A New Fiesta ST?
A lightly used WRX wagon?
So many good choices! I've driven all but the latest WRX, and they're all great in their own way.

Well if it's any consolation I have the speed3 and love it. I like the looks more than the Focus ST, but that's personal preference. I'm jealous of the cool overboost it gets, but I like the always on power I've gotten from the mods to my speed3. I probably would have gone with a WRX now that I've seen how the speed3 performs in the snow with factory tires.
I'd guess the speed3 and some performance parts with the money you'd save would be a better bang for your buck, but then again I sometimes wish I would have held out for the Fiesta ST for the more nimble feel.
In summary, I really don't know either, they're all great cars.

Left one's going "heh heh heh", right one "huh huh huh". Reverse these two:

How long have you had your 3? How many miles?
I just ask because I want to gauge reliability if I go the used route where I have much less (if any) of a warranty to fall back on. I actually really liked the Speed3 when I drove it. It torque steers like a fucking madman, but in a weirdly fun way.

I'm sorry, but really? The factory tires are high performance summer tires (similar to what's equipped to the WRX), nearly all examples of which are utterly useless in the snow. That's a pretty awful reason to buy one car over another. Every friend I know who lives where it snows and has a car like this keeps a dedicated winter set of tires. One of my best friends has a Speed3 with good studless winter tires and it is an animal in the snow. It won't be better than a WRX, but it's more capable than most things out there (limited slip is huge in this regard).

I've had the speed3 for 18,000 miles, got it new about a year and a half ago. I haven't had any strange issues or anything odd. A friend has one that just ticked 100,000 and the only thing he's done since he's gotten it is the timing belt for preventative maintenance. The thing still rips like a bat out of hell which really surprised me.
